LEICESTER Speedway regret to announce tomorrow’s (Monday) ROWE Motor Oil Premiership play-off semi-final against Sheffield has been postponed.
There has been significant rainfall at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park in recent days, especially on Sunday, and this has left the track in a saturated condition.
Monday’s forecast now shows further rain in the afternoon as well as a yellow warning for wind.
It is not our intention to put on a meeting of such importance to both clubs in sub-standard conditions, and the decision has therefore been taken to postpone.
The Watling JCB Lions will still travel to Sheffield this Thursday for what now becomes the first leg, and a new date for the Leicester leg is to be confirmed following discussions between the clubs and broadcast partners.
